Why CrossFit Elements?
As Baby Boomers we are entering the 2nd half of our 3rd trimester of life. Chris Crowley and Henry Lodges state in their book Younger Next Year that in order to turn back the biological clock and remain functionally competent, we need to exercise six days a week, exhibit proper nutrition, commit to the routine, and connect. This commitment and connection must begin now and continue well into your 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.
Crossfit offers the perfect prescription: exercise 3 days on and take one day off, maintain a focused diet, and continually vary your routine. You will find dedicated trainers committed to your success, health, and longevity, and connection with your tribe…folks similarly motivated like yourself.
After 30 years in the military (25+ in the Marine Corps) and being a fitness “whore” the majority of my adult life, I have competed in Olympic and Sprint Distance Triathlons, Bench Press Competitions, Semi annual Marine Corps Physical Fitness Tests, etc…Greg Glassman’s Crossfit is without a doubt, the gold standard in exercise/fitness protocols.
Exercises are scalable in load and intensity to each individual’s ability. You will not move onto greater loads and more advanced exercises until you are ready. You will always be under the guidance of a certified CrossFit trainer who will offer constructive instruction as well as motivation. The trainers here are people who really care about you, your health, and your future.
Crossfit Elements will be targeted towards folks in their late 40’s and older, as well as new athletes just wanting a less competitive environment.…same Workouts of the Day (WODs) as everyone else, but with an emphasis on scalability. If you want to throw down with the prescribed weight and reps by all means “Get Some”! Just show up with commitment, a water bottle, your sneakers, and we’ll take care of the rest!
See you at the gym!
